Orientation Day 12 – August 28

The T.S. Patriot State II pulled through the Cape Cod Canal today around 1100 before circling back to tie up. Cadet Candidates rose early once again to clean their rooms and get ready to move off the ship later today. They enjoyed their last breakfast on the ship before taking their youngie knowledge exam. This test is on everything they have been studying for the past two weeks and the company with the highest scores will gain points for Admiral’s Cup.

Cadet Candidates then had lunch and academic breakout sessions once again before arriving back on campus. They received a warm welcome from locals, families, and those who stayed at the academy for the cruise. People waved from the shore and passing boats as the cadet candidates manned the rails. The Rear Admiral and the Vice President of Student Services also welcomed the youngies back for the rest of their last full day of Orientation.

This evening was back to business, there is a marching competition to win tomorrow. The energy tonight was bigger than ever. Companies have come together and await their final day. The academic year is quickly approaching, and the youngies have been prepared. Tomorrow, the cadet candidates will wear their classroom blacks for the first time as they graduate. This will be the end of their Orientation, but their time here is far from over. There are people to be challenged, lessons to be learned, and leaders to be formed. This is only the beginning.
